Position Summary:

GCC’s Data Engineering team is in search for a leader in data discipline whose primarily responsibilities will focus on leading a team of Data Engineers, Data Quality Assurance testers & Data Operations personnel to deliver projects on time with high data accuracy. The person in this role will be responsible for continued development of Enterprise Data Warehouse, data integration & database marketing solutions. Working closely with the ETL Development, Business Intelligence, Digital Marketing, and other internal teams. It requires hands on knowledge in Data Architecture, ETL, Data Modelling & Reporting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead a team of data engineers, data quality testers & data operations personnel
  • Architecture & design guidance & review for data integration solutions
  • Identify data quality issues raise it with clear materiality and actions to resolve
  • Effectively build & manage a framework of data accuracy monitoring rules
  • Work with project managers & business analyst to draft sprint requirements
  • Product ownership for data warehouse functional area to support agile ceremonies
  • Contract management for all software related to data engineering area
  • Budget & Finance management for the data engineering team
  • Effective performance management of direct & indirect reports
  • Mentoring & development of high performers with drafting appropriate development plans

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 15+ years of experience data engineering, data warehousing , reporting and or analysis
  • 8+ years of hands on experience in Data Architecture, Data Modelling, ETL, Data Quality & Reporting
  • 8+ years of experience in designing data marts and datawarehouse related databases
  • 5+ years of experience in building & leading a medium to large technology teams
  • 5+ years of relational & dimensional data modelling techniques (Erwin preferred)
  • 5+ years in Informatica Power Center or similar, Oracle, Shell Scripting & BI Tools
  • 5+ years working in Agile environment (Scrum master experience preferred)
  • Strong upward communication & stakeholder management skills
  • Preferred - Exposure to next generation data platforms, big data solutions & data science (Hadoop, R, Python)
  • Preferred - Exposure to cloud data warehouse technologies (Snowflake, AWS- Redshift, S3, Azure Data Lake, Athena)
