As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platforms – Workforce Technology team, you will be a key member of an agile team, responsible for designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role will involve implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions, all in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Design technical solutions with JPMC’s cloud platform by coordinating with JPMC central public cloud architecture team to meet the product requirements.
  • Design and develop scalable and resilient systems and contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams. 
  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop, debug, and maintain code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages. 
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies. 
  • Create internal Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure using JPMC’s public cloud terraform modules. 
  • Perform regular code reviews developed by the team members. Coordinate application testing and signoff. 
  • Deploy the AWS Services and code migrations using JPMC automated pattern build by coordinating with central implementation team. 
  • Provide expert product support on all implementations for JPMC’s cloud automation systems. 
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Skills & experience required in – Linux/Unix; Agile; Data Architecture Disciplines; Infrastructure Architecture Disciplines for AWS (Excluding Google and Microsoft); Microservices; Apache Kafka; NodeJS; Java; Python; Scala; SQL; XML; REST; SOAP; JSON; Kubernetes; Terraform; AWS Cloud Services; AWS Glue; MongoDB; Oracle; DB2; MySQL; Postgre; Autosys; Shell Script; PLSQL; Apache Spark; Splunk; PySpark programming; JUnit; Analytical tools; QuickSight; Tableau; Alteryx.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • AWS Architect or Developer certification
  • Terraform certification
  • Any other data or analytics platform certification
