Developer Co-op, Data Products

Application Deadline: Monday, January 27, 2025 (we will review applications on a rolling-basis) Duration: 8 months Positions Available: 1   Start Date: Monday, May 5, 2025For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Computer Science or Software Engineering and have coding experience. This outstanding opportunity provides hands-on experience on cloud computing and the chance to contribute as a proactive member of our software development team! Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PDT or MDT or relocate to a specific office (site-based). You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures  
• Support Data and App Developers to complete the development work   
• Sustain positive relationships by discussing and communicating with Product Owners and collaborators to understand the business requirements   
• Support teams to coordinate work regarding Azure migration, demonstrating efficient communication and interpersonal skills   
• Work on both frontend and backend development with JavaScript or C#, .NET   
• Conduct data analysis using query language such as SQL  

Qualifications

• Background in Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred   
• Preference will be given to students who have previous related coding and data engineering experience   
• Previous experience with Agile methodologies and cloud platforms (Azure) is an asset   
• Able to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team   
• Proven ability to learn new technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently   
• Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment   
• Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand   
• Motivated and driven to learn   
• Self-starter with good problem-solving skills
