We strive to transform smart electric vehicles with technology and data, shaping the mobility experience of the future.   We are seeking a Director/Principal Engineer for Big Data Team to lead the strategic development and operational excellence of XPENG's autonomous driving business. This role demands a unique blend of technical acumen and operational expertise to oversee our AI and data platform, infrastructure tooling, and data delivery processes, enabling the delivery of high-quality data sets essential for autonomous driving innovation.   Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for our big data infrastructure, aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of big data systems, HPC platforms and infrastructures. Including data ingestion pipelines, processing frameworks, scalable storage solutions, and advanced analytics platforms, etc.
  • Establish and drive the technical roadmap for XPENG's autonomous driving data infrastructure, including both data and AI platforms, data pipelines, tooling, and system stability
  • Supervise the delivery of high-quality, well-annotated data sets critical for autonomous driving innovation
  • Collaborate with cross-national and cross-functional teams, including engineering and product development to drive alignment and deliver integrated solutions
  • Develop and manage budgets, operational plans, and technology roadmaps to achieve business objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, technology partners, and industry experts
  Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in big data infrastructure development, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in the autonomous driving sector. Experience in managing large-scale operations is highly valued
  • Strong technical expertise in big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, cloud-native platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Alibaba Cloud), and data labeling operation, etc.
  • Exceptional leadership and project management skills, with a proven ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate and make decisions in challenging and dynamic environments
  • Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, agile environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is required

The base salary range for this full-time position is $241,800-$409,200, in addition to bonus, equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
