Stripe
Stripe is a suite of APIs powering online payment processing and commerce solutions for internet businesses of all sizes. Accept payments and scale faster with AI.About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companiesâfrom the worldâs largest enterprises to the most ambitious startupsâuse Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyoneâs reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
To make the most of Stripe, merchants need to store data for their custom business processes. For example, they might store a Salesforce record ID on a Stripe Customer object. Today they can do that with Stripe metadata. But thatâs just the beginning. We want to enable users to power more of their workflows with Stripe and become a system of record for key business data. Users should be able to extend Stripe-defined objects with strongly-typed fields and data validation logic. They should be able to create completely custom objects that allow them to better model their business on Stripe. And these new data capabilities should all work together well with the Stripe Dashboard, Workflows, and Stripe Apps products.
Weâre hiring a product manager to define our Custom Data product line, which makes it easy for anyone to model, ingest, and use data on Stripe.
What youâll do
This is a 0-1 product management opportunity, and youâll be responsible for the entire product line; identifying the MVP use cases, product design, iterating quickly by partnering with early adopters, pricing, and more. Youâll also work very closely with multiple teams at Stripe to enable their products to be âCustom data-readyâ.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers and internal product teams daily, so that you can validate product ideas/requirements and prototypes
- Partner with engineering and design to ship functionality that delights users, has the right balance of impact vs engineering cost, and makes a measurable impact
- Develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap, so that we can launch an MVP in 2025
- Define key success metrics
- Work closely with user researchers to test hypotheses and understand user pain points
Who you are
Weâre looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- 12+ years of Product Management experience
- Computer Science background or equivalent technical experience
- Both passion for and experience building data platforms. For example, youâve either built a custom data platform, such as Salesforce Custom Objects, Shopify Metaobjects, or HubSpot Custom Objects, or youâve built a tool that consumes/modifies objects from those platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, structuring ambiguous concepts clearly and from first principles
- Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
- Demonstrated experience of leading initiatives across large engineering organizations, spanning multiple teams to influence tech roadmap planning and execution
Preferred qualifications
- You enjoy using social media to interact directly with customers for feedback
- Youâve founded a business / startup, taking a product from 0-1
- Your hands are filthy. You only ship functionality after youâve personally test driven it and made heavy edits to the documentation.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $214,300 - $321,500. For sales roles, the range provided is the roleâs On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidateâs experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
