RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Planning:

  • Act as the connection point between Ops, UW, and Data to understand and address business data requirements, including managing new field and report requests
  • Partner closely with Data Transformation to lead Change Management and the data transformation for UW Operations
  • Work with partners and stake holders to streamline data collection and reporting throughout the customer and employee journey to improve Operations
  • Collaborate with business leaders to align data transformation efforts to the overarching business strategy
  • Participate in the AINA Data Governance Committee, assisting in the development and adoption of the organizational data governance model
  • Leverage business knowledge to own data stewardship and enable Operations leaders to own and maintain their data

Execution:

  • Lead Data Transformation for UW Ops, including close collaboration Data Transformation leads, leading Ops and UW UAT, change management, and supporting decommission
  • Maintain error and correction tools and implement processes and procedures to monitor and resolve data-related errors
  • Coordinate across data stewards to promote data quality and consistency
  • Analyze Ops reporting and recommend ways to enhance analytics and reporting
  • Implement new field/report requests where necessary
  • Define data quality standards, procedures, and controls to improve data accuracy
  • Maintain data in Collibra and guarantee data lineage, quality, and consistency
  • Own initiatives for projects with significant data component

Talent Management:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting Agile and business-led product development and delivery

Capability Development:

  • Continuously assess and enhance reporting to improve, streamline and support the Underwriting Operations organization.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

Individual:

  • Deep experience leading Operations data transformations for a large, complex insurance business
  • Experience surmising data-driven insights to align initiatives and reporting with the overarching enterprise strategy
  • Communication of data transformation strategy to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to engage IT and UW partners to deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs
  • Experience designing and delivering UAT for complex data initiatives
  • Experience driving training/data literacy projects

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

SKILLS

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in  Collaboration and Interpersonal Skills, Communication, Technical, and Organization, Problem Solving and Service Skills
  • Must be a self-starter, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
