Our challenge

We are seeking a talented and experienced Power BI Developer with expertise in Amazon QuickSight to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data visualization, reporting, and analytics, with the ability to transform complex data sets into clear and actionable insights. This role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver high-quality dashboards and reports.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $125k - $145k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Utilize Amazon QuickSight to create insightful visualizations and reports that meet business needs.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data, and translate business objectives into technical specifications.
  • Optimize and improve existing reports and dashboards for performance and usability.
  • Conduct data modeling and ETL processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and QuickSight functionalities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data visualization and analytics.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, with a strong portfolio of dashboards and reports.
  • Proficiency in Amazon QuickSight, including data preparation, visualizations, and report generation.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis and visualization best practices.
  • Experience with SQL and data querying techniques.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and data integration tools.
