We are looking for a Head of Data Governance and Data Management to join our team in London.

A bit about the role

The Head of Data Governance and Data Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for transforming and improving data governance practices across Aviva’s Customer & Marketing functions. The primary goal is to reposition the C&M Data Governance (CMDG) team as a data enablement function, aligning governance with data product delivery to unlock business value while ensuring compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements.​

This role requires an innovative leader who can streamline processes, implement technology-driven solutions, and lead the transition from project- to product-based approaches, enabling efficient data management across the organisation.​

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in a data governance leadership role, ideally within customer-centric or marketing functions

• Strong understanding of data privacy, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks

• Demonstrated success in transforming data governance processes to enable agile, technology-driven ways of working

• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer engagement skills, with a focus on building effective cross-functional relationships

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a dedication to driving operational efficiencies and regulatory compliance

• National salary circa £110,000, London salary circa £130,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
