Te tūranga – The role 

Our Data Science Systems team leverages data to strengthen analytics capability across the Bank. The team is focussed on partnering across the Bank to assess data needs, provide advice and action solutions to set up and utilise data.

The team reviews and develops data and statistical processes and are at the forefront of our granular data collections, developing cutting-edge approaches to working with detailed financial system and survey data.

The Manager Data Science Systems will be responsible for leading and empowering people, data system delivery, project and change management, and stakeholder management. You will facilitate an environment where innovation thrives and the team is supported to continuously improve data products and services.

You will be a role model for data, analytics and process excellence. In this role you will be an advocate for decision making through data-driven business practices and drive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to uplift our data capability.

Ō pūkenga – About you  

We’re looking for someone with experience of leading a team of data professionals to apply best practice approaches to the design, build, and analysis of data for evidence-based decision-making.

If you have: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification supported by related work experience

  • Proven experience leading a team of data professionals

  • Relationship management skills with ability to build and sustain positive collaboration

  • Experience implementing complex data collections using a range of tools and approaches

  • Ability to lead project work from an end-to-end perspective with a continuous improvement mentality

  • Experience implementing data strategy initiatives and driving a data-driven culture

The salary midpoint for this role is $187,029. Actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience.
