ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Data Quality Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL skills, hands-on experience in data quality (DQ) issue identification and resolution, and a solid understanding of data quality frameworks and best practices. As a Data Quality Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our data to support key business decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, execute, and maintain SQL queries to validate and assess data quality across various data sources.
- Identify, investigate, and document data quality issues, including data inconsistencies, missing information, and anomalies.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define data quality requirements, rules, and metrics.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data quality issues, including logging, prioritization, resolution, and tracking.
- Design and implement data quality controls, monitoring dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the root cause of data quality issues is identified and addressed.
- Proactively recommend and implement process improvements to enhance data quality and governance practices.
- Provide regular updates on data quality metrics, trends, and remediation progress to relevant teams and management.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong SQL skills: Proficiency in writing complex queries for data analysis and validation.
- Data Quality experience: Hands-on experience in monitoring, identifying, and managing data quality issues.
- Familiarity with data quality frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in working with large datasets and enterprise-level databases.
- Basic understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines is a plus.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with data quality tools (e.g., Informatica DQ, Talend, or similar).
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python for data analysis and automation.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA or Confluence.
