SUMMARY Agile Defense will support U.S. Southern Command’s (USSOUTHCOM) efforts to deter aggression, defeat threats, protect national Security, rapidly respond to crisis situations, and build Area of Responsibility (AOR) Information Technology (IT) capacity. We will deliver direct support in implementing and sustaining mission critical IT networks and robust cyber defense services with compliance to all Cyber Task Orders (CTOs).We are seeking an experienced User Experience (UX) Lead to oversee and drive the user experience strategy for the SCITES 2 Task Order (TO) in support of USSOUTHCOM. The UX Lead will be responsible for defining and extracting operationally relevant insights from both technical and human-based sensors to enhance understanding of the USSOUTHCOM user environment. The role involves ensuring that digital systems, applications, and interfaces are intuitive, adaptive, and aligned with user needs, enabling seamless and efficient operations. The UX Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams to continuously improve user experience and drive a customer-centric approach across the organization.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the overall UX strategy for the SCITES 2 TO, ensuring a seamless and integrated user experience across systems and platforms.·· Define and extract proactive insights from both technical and human-based sensors to maintain continuous awareness and understanding of the DAO SOUTHCOM user environment.·· Create digital experiences that meet the diverse needs and requests of USSOUTHCOM users, ensuring systems are both intuitive and adaptive to dynamic operational requirements.·· Employ data-driven methodologies and analytics to continuously optimize the user experience and ensure that systems are aligned with operational goals and user needs.·· Work closely with stakeholders to gather user feedback and iteratively refine systems and interfaces, ensuring high levels of usability and efficiency.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure UX design is integrated with overall IT, security, and operations strategies.·· Provide strategic direction on UX improvements and best practices, fostering a customer-centric approach across all systems and platforms.·· Monitor UX performance and lead the identification of opportunities to improve usability, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction.·· Ensure that UX improvements align with the mission-critical requirements of USSOUTHCOM operations, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the warfighter’s ability to access, share, and maneuver in contested environments.

Education, Background, and Years of Experience· 5 to 7 years of experience in User Experience (UX) design, with a focus on large-scale systems and complex environments, preferably in military or defense-related contexts.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills· Proven experience in creating seamless, integrated digital experiences that meet users' needs and operational requirements.· Expertise in providing intuitive and adaptive UX that enhances usability, decision-making, and efficiency in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.·· Experience with data-driven methodologies to optimize user experiences and ensure systems meet user needs while maintaining operational readiness.·· Strong understanding of UX principles, including usability, accessibility, and user-centered design, with the ability to apply these principles in fast-paced, evolving environments.·· Ability to lead cross-functional teams in the design, implementation, and refinement of user experiences, ensuring high-quality deliverables and positive user outcomes.·· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with technical, operational, and leadership teams.
Preferred Skills· Experience supporting USSOUTHCOM or other combatant commands is highly desirable.· Knowledge of DoD standards and policies related to UX design and development, including familiarity with Agile methodologies and design tools.· Experience working with both human and technical sensors to gather and analyze user feedback and operational data.
WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions· Standard office conditionsStrength Demands· Light – 20 lbs. Maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
