Description

We are now seeking an Sr. Data Analyst with strong technical and communication skills to join our internal team. The Sr. Data Analyst will have the opportunity to impact the day-to-day effectiveness of our operations and contribute to the continued success of our company. This position will have routine interaction with Federal agency stakeholders and users.

 

On a day-to-day basis, the Sr. Data Analyst will provide ongoing support and maintenance for a new Microsoft PowerApps tool for data entry and static reporting of key division activities. This tool replaces a MS Access solution from which all legacy data has been migrated from and includes connections and data feeds from other enterprise systems. Troubleshooting issues, bug fixes, and documenting future enhancements for the product backlog are common tasks to be expected. The Sr. Data Anlayst must also be able to provide expert and professional user support, including virtual engagement (i.e., Zoom, MS Teams), and documentation for user guides or training content. Future responsibilities, if authorized by the agency, may include development of new features or enhancements.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Project Lead.
  • Work closely with and takes task-level direction from the assigned Business Analyst.
  • Engage with client agency leaders and IT personnel as the primary project stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain complex Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Power BI Report server and On-premise Gateway Admistration.
  • Manage security, data sources and report delivery.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for Microsoft 365 usage and security to end-users and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Microsoft 365 services with existing infrastructure.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on system performance, security status, and compliance to management.
  • Document and maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Follow established operating policies to mitigate risk.

 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be able to successfully complete a federal systems access background check.
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of work experience in senior data analyst role, demonstrating proven expertise providing Tier 3 support IT-based projects.
  • Strong communication skills to interface with other departments, client stakeholders, and leadership.
  • BS/BA required (Information Technology, Computer Science or similar is preferred).
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a senior data analyst or comparable role.
  • Related professional certifications are a plus. 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must possess strong skills and experience in the following applications:
  • Power Platform Suite (Power Automate 2404, 2405; Dataverse – GitHub)

 

Overall experience in the following areas:

  • SharePoint, Access, the MS Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Expertise in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Experience in data modeling and architecture design.
  • Expertise in data governance, security protocols, and best practices for large-scale migrations.
  • Advanced database administration and development.
  • Proficiency in managing external database connections for complex and large-scale databases.
  • Strong ETL capabilities, proficiency in SQL, and extensive experience in data modeling and optimization.
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX, M language, and Power Query is essential, along with the ability to design complex, performant data models and create sophisticated reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions excellent communication skills for presenting to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration and reporting issues.
