Your Role 

Job Summary:

The Master Data Analyst is responsible consistent application of Master Data requests within the local ERP system. This role will enhance the business partnering focus with increased support of the ongoing requests for master data maintenance as well as standardization of Master Data within Brenntag Mid-South to align with Brenntag NA Standards. Data alignment between the overall business strategy and IT is a key source of effort for this position.

The Master Data Analyst will function as a key support role throughout Brenntag Mid-South and to govern and continuously improve the master data management vision for Brenntag North America.

Job Description:

Deskside Master Data support for Business Partners within branches:

  • Routinely performs mass cleansing based on data quality metrics that is defined by the role and MDM management.
  • Analyzes master data and document sets, looking for data quality opportunities or existing issues.  Creates and implements action plans to resolve quality topics, including through reporting, data maintenance, system enhancements, and business guidance and training.
  • Monitors process performance of the master data maintenance workflows to discover improvement possibilities and generates change through business and IT engagement.
  • Completes documentation of Key Processes to ensure business continuity and business partner autonomy
  • Works closely with the Local and NA Business partners to define and build data quality reports that include relevant transactional or financial criteria in order to support leadership and data stakeholders.
  • Support for the implementation of new reporting metrics and dataset or document cleanse projects.
  • Responsible for new and ongoing maintenance of required documentation within the local ERP
  • Facilitates business support topics and requests.
  • Identifies impacts from external-to-MDM projects on MDM processes and standards.
  • Facilitates communications, meetings, activities, and onboarding of MDM organization members and subject matter experts/data owners.
  • Processes workflow requests in SAP MDG/DMS; reviewing master data and documentation for accuracy prior to approval
Your Profile 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Chemistry or related field degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in master data management and/or document management
  • Experience creating and enforcing data governance principals (e.g. data ownership, data accountability, system authorizations, SODs, etc).
  • Experience working directly within ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, with specialization in Materials Management,
  • Sales/Distribution, or Finance a plus.
  • Experience with extracting, analyzing, and disseminating master and transactional data in reports or analytical toolsets (e.g. Excel, Qlik, Information Steward, BI/BW) to support data quality or management reporting.
  • Experience in the Chemical or Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences Industries, with a broad understanding of the regulatory compliance challenges that exist.
  • Project Management experience a plus.
  • Business process analysis and process mapping experience, using Agile/Scrum or Lean methodologies.
