Join our team as a Data Analyst Intern and support us in shaping our globally aligned First Line of Defense (1LoD) data, tools, and reporting landscape. This 6-month contract position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our 1LoD function within the 'Three Lines of Defence' model.As a Data Analyst Intern, you will be responsible for generating, reviewing, and documenting monthly data samples for controls testing across various business processes. Your expertise in data analysis and scripting languages such as VBA and SQL will enable you to write, optimize, and maintain scripts for controls processing, data analysis and reporting. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand control requirements, provide insights and recommendations to improve data accuracy, and support the development of automated tools or dashboards to streamline sampling and reporting processes.
YOUR CHALLENGE
- Write, optimize, and maintain macros and scripts for data analysis using programming languages such as VBA or SQL
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for sampling processes, methodologies, and results
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve data accuracy, control efficiency, and monitoring strategies
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and controls when necessary
- Develop and maintain our data framework that makes the data accessible and ready for further use
- Understand business and control processes, anticipate, and consolidate requirements (Chief Risk Office, IT, Investment and Wealth Management Solutions)
- Translate business requirements into data and engineering specifications
- Produce risk and controls reports for various organizational levels on a regular basis
- Develop reports, analyses, and transfer findings into user-friendly presentations/summaries.
YOUR PROFILE
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and practical implementation skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc.)
- Ability to analyse existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations
- Theoretical/university knowledge of data analytics and data architecture/data engineering in the financial industry
- Excellent command of MS Office Suite and strong affinity to technology
- Ability to oversee complexity
- Decisive, proactive, and acting with care and assertiveness
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting findings and collaborating with stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Expertise in banking products and financial markets is an advantage
- Ability to work on own initiative, willing to take on responsibility
- Good language skills (English a must); other languages a plus.
