Job Summary:

The Data Scientist will be responsible for leveraging data to enhance retail success and improve the customer experience. Reporting to the Head of CRM, this role will focus on developing data-driven models, analyzing customer journeys, and providing actionable insights to optimize marketing campaigns and customer lifecycle management. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and building intuitive visualization tools, the Data Scientist will play a key role in driving strategic decisions and supporting overall business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data-driven segmentation models to enhance marketing campaigns, personalize offers, and support customer lifecycle management.
  • Analyze customer journeys across multiple touchpoints to identify pain points and recommend improvements for an optimized customer experience.
  • Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to track and evaluate campaign effectiveness, focusing on customer acquisition, engagement, and retention metrics.
  • Extract actionable insights through data mining, profiling, and segmentation. Deliver regular reports on key metrics, including CLTV, and integrate findings into strategic business initiatives.
  • Create forecasting models for customer behavior, such as churn risk and product preferences, to inform decision-making.
  • Build dashboards and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to present complex data insights in a clear, stakeholder-friendly format.
  • Leverage customer data to support market research, competitive analysis, and the development of consumer insights.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data by addressing quality issues and implementing best practices for data governance in collaboration with IT teams.
  • Work with marketing, product, ecommerce, and sales teams to align data insights with broader business strategies and contribute to personalization initiatives.

Desired Background:

  • 6+ years’ experience in the fashion industry (luxury preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Data Science, Mathematics and/or Statistics
  • Hands on experience with large datasets (omnichannel retail preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen ability to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Experience in customer engagement strategies, personalization, and targeting.
  • Experience supporting and partnering with different departments such as Ecommerce / CRM, Marketing, Merchandising, and Supply Chain.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in SQL, R, or Python for data querying and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills for modeling and reporting.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Experience with data platforms such as GA4, Meta, Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
  • Knowledge of CRM and CDP tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk).
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling techniques and A/B testing frameworks.

Pay Range:

The base salary for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience and location.
