 The Artificial Intelligence Engineer, preferably with a PhD and a strong track record in the development and implementation of advanced AI solutions. The ideal candidate will lead innovative projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to solve complex challenges in various academic and research sectors. Proven experience in applying Large Language Models (LLM) and developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques is absolutely mandatory, as well as advanced project management skills. Expertise in developing and deploying projects using LangChain or Directus for LLMs and RAG techniques is also required.

Responsibilities

Your role as AI Engineer will involve: 

 

• Development of Advanced AI Models: Design, train, and optimize deep learning models, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), LSTM, Transformers, and GANs, applied to areas such as computer vision, natural language processing, and recommendation systems. 

• Implementation of LLM and RAG Techniques: Develop and integrate Large Language Models and apply Retrieval-Augmented Generation techniques to enhance the accuracy and relevance of AI solutions in academic and research projects. 

• AI Project Management: Lead AI projects from conception to implementation, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing resources, and ensuring objectives and deadlines are met. 

• Integration of AI Solutions: Collaborate with engineering and academic teams to implement AI solutions into existing systems and services, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with institutional goals. 

• Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in artificial intelligence, proposing and developing new techniques and tools that add value to the university and its research projects. 
• Optimization and Scalability: Adjust hyperparameters, refine neural network architectures, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring efficient use of computational resources (GPUs/TPUs) and leveraging cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP) for horizontal and vertical scalability. 

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have:  

 

• Educational Background: PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields. 

• Professional Experience: Over 4 years of demonstrable experience in developing and implementing AI and deep learning solutions, with a strong track record in Deep Learning projects. 

• Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R. 

• Experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras. 

• Knowledge of MLOps, best deployment practices, and pipeline management tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow). 

• Experience handling big data and distributed ecosystem tools (Apache Spark, Hadoop) and knowledge of NoSQL databases. 

• Specialization in LLM and RAG: Proven experience in developing and applying Large Language Models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation techniques, including the use of LangChain or Directus. 

• Project Management: Advanced skills in planning, executing, and overseeing AI projects, including team coordination and resource management. 

• Cloud Infrastructure: Experience working with cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and utilizing GPU/TPU environments for training and optimization. 

• Languages: Advanced English proficiency (C2 level), both written and spoken. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Specialized AI Areas: Experience with advanced techniques in natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, recommendation systems, and/or reinforcement learning. 

• Publications and Contributions: Publications in recognized AI conferences or journals, and/or contributions to open-source projects or active participation in AI communities. 

• DevOps and Containerization: Knowledge of DevOps and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
