As an Graph API Integration Engineer  in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

***This is a hybrid role based in Chicago or Lake County, IL***

Purpose

As a Graph API/Ops Engineer, you will be responsible for developing production solutions that transform our analytical computing capabilities into robust consumable services. You will be responsible for developing production API endpoints and services that access graph-based data resources as well as other types. You will craft code to facilitate data transformation, quality checking, transfer, and interactivity between systems in AbbVie’s across the enterprise specifically managing graph-based data and workloads.  

The Graph API/Ops Engineer will work with the Information Research, AI, machine learning and EPIC (enterprise product incubator) teams to support R&D and enterprise products and capabilities. You will report to the graph work stream lead.

Responsibilities

List up to 10 main responsibilities for the job. Include information about the accountability and scope.

  • Plan, organize, and develop Python code to expose graph data and analytical services via API endpoints to support enterprise access to these models.
  • Build out production processing pipeline and manage CI/CD deployment.
  • Collaborate to best represent and model data using GraphQL and other REST API techniques.
  • Support additional development efforts including writing code to transform and process data, check quality, and supervise running workloads.
  • Engage with business analysts and consultants to educate and support graph solution development.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or relevant field and at least 5 years relevant experience OR Masters degree in relevant field and at least 4 years experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing and interacting with APIs, especially GraphQL.
  • Experience using Python in a production environment.
  • Experience with enterprise platform integration.
  • Ability to Learn, understand and master new methods and technologies, and act as a resource for others.

Beneficial: 

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical domain.
  • Related certifications in API technologies.
  • Experience with Spark, Hadoop, AWS, Cloudera and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge or experience with Semantic Web Technologies and linked data.
  • Experience using Neo4j
