Job Title: Co-op, Data Analytics

Position Overview:
Insulet Corporation, maker of the OmniPod, is the leader in tubeless insulin pump. The Data Scientist role is responsible for supporting research and development of global analytics and data science initiatives, according to Insulet’s data analytics strategy. Working with senior analytics technical leaders, you will develop tools and processes to transform data into insights with subject matter experts from cross-functional teams. Using data cleaning best practices, aggregation, and joining large datasets, you will leverage cloud technologies to build insights into a comprehensive view of product to patient. You will gain detailed knowledge of multiple facets of business operation and collaborate with other Data Scientists in the Analytics COE to support cross-functional efforts spanning R&D, medical affairs, quality, and global manufacturing, among others. Responsibilities:

  • Explore data patterns using existing data science tools and self-created programs.
  • Perform statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and generate automated reporting.
  • Work with IT and cross functional teams to identify data sources, clean data, and pre-process scripts as needed.
  • Assist in implementation of analytics tools.
  • Assist in building data products across functional areas
  • Assist data engineering in documentation and data catalog
  • Performs other duties as required.


Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.


Skills/Competencies:

  • Attention to detail, goal-oriented mentality
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in one or more analytic software tools, such as Python (e.g. pandas, matplotlib), R (e.g. tidyverse),
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and using relational database querying tools (e.g. SSMS, DBeaver, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis (hypothesis testing, regression modeling) and exposure to machine learning algorithms
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI)
  • Ability to work independently without detailed guidance, while maintaining effective communications with supervisors
  • Ability to communicate effectively and document objectives and procedures.

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $24.00 - $28.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
