Researcher - Efficient AI

Huawei Canada has an immediate contract opening for a Researcher.

About the team:

Founded in 2012, the Noah’s Ark lab has evolved into a prominent research organization with notable achievements in academia and industry. The lab’s mission focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and related fields to benefit the company and society. Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the-art research while integrating innovations into the company's products and services, including LLMs, RL, NLP, computer vision, AI theory, and Autonomous driving.

About the job:

• Keeping track of the latest progresses in the (selected) AI/ML areas (especially efficient architectures, training and inference).

• Research and develop innovative DL architecture and algorithms for foundation models.

• Perform experiments and evaluate, analyze and drive insights from experiments.

• Contributing to the proposal of high-impact intellectual properties (e.g., patents), publishing of research papers in top-tier AI/ML.

Requirements

About the ideal candidate:

• A Ph.D. or a Master in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Hands-on experience and deep understanding on state-of-the-art techniques of foundation models in NLP or CV.

• Strong coding skills mainly in Python, with a focused expertise in PyTorch.

• Project experience on efficient AI architectures, training and inference is a huge asset.

• Project experience on continual/online learning is an asset.

• Publications in top tier AI/ML conferences are assets.

• Good communication skills, willingness to collaborate, self-motivated.
