Hadrian — Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies make rockets, jets, and satellites 10x faster and 2x cheaper. Our CEO, Chris Power, discusses the importance of what we're building in this video.
We are a lean but mighty team (and growing!) people that are passionate about building critical infrastructure to support the nation and the advancement of humanity.
To support our ambitious vision, we have raised > $200M from Lux Capital, A16Z, Founders Fund, Construct Capital, Caffeinated Capital, and more.
Building Copilot
Copilot is our suite of CAD/CAM automation software that is responsible for automating Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis, CAM programming, and CMM programming. We work with some of the best operators in the world to identify high impact areas to automate and/or automate with software. Our team develops software, manufacturing processes, and machine controls and we integrate with a variety of machines and robotics systems. We are responsible for designing and implementing the solutions cradle to grave. Broadly, this can be any combination of full stack web engineering, applications engineering, computational geometry, and working with a number of engineering centric APIs (documented and undocumented).

In this role you will:

  • Build and modify complex web services in service of large scale distributed systems and applications
  • Work on computational geometry, path planning, and collision detection utilities for improving inspection automation in C++ and C#
  • Write geometry primitives for feature inference and automatically linking tolerance data to feature geometries in C++ and Typescript.
  • Drive product vision and long term roadmap over time by taking on responsibility for understanding part profiles, defining metrics and systematically defining improvements

Admired skills/background:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in CS, Math, and/or Physics
  • Frontend skills - basic React / Redux / Zustand or Javascript is a big bonus, but not mandatory
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software or CAD/CAM app development
  • Experience in manufacturing, generative design, video games, graphics, 3d printing, robotics, or aerospace
  • Working understanding of GD&T and/or mechanical design
  • Experience with or loves to build great fullstack products
  • Excited to learn new fields and concepts and teach others about your expertise
  • Consider yourself a builder and have fun attacking and solving complicated problems

You might be a good fit if...

  • You’re excited by linear algebra and geometry problems. Reading a dense research paper creates excitement and not fear. You wish your current software job gave you a chance to flex your math skills a bit more.
  • Strong ability to write high quality code: You like writing high quality code in a strongly typed language. You enjoy structuring a complex solution into simple, easily digestible building blocks and are as excited to write high quality code as to have something working. A well scoped refactor of your work gives you joy.
  • Algorithmic interest: You wish your job gave you a chance to solve the types of computer science problems you got to do when working on side projects or in your algorithms or machine learning class. Needing to read a few papers on identifying the largest interior rectangle in an arbitrary polygon sounds like a great day.
Compensation and Benefits
For this role, the target salary range is $150,000 - $225,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
In addition to salary and equity, we offer:• 100% coverage of platinum medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees• 401k• Relocation stipend if you’re moving from outside of LA• Flexible vacation policy
