Junior Data Scientist

Overview

GeoYeti focuses on advanced analytics, data science, development of the applications that support such work.  We seek junior-level DATA SCIENTIST to support a client in Herndon, VA.  We support a broad range of IC and DoD clients, though a common theme across our portfolio is that our team members, regardless of their role, interact with the end users around the globe.

Responsibilities

This work requires data science support to an extract, transform, load (ETL) pipeline. This includes reviewing and spot checking data, analyzing statistics and summarizing inbound data, and creating and explaining dashboards and summary reports to teammates and customers. This job requires the applicant to be successful working individually and with a small group.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:   

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly required to start

• Python (1+ year) especially with proven experience in report and dashboard generation, and manipulating data larger than memory.

Desired Qualifications:  

• SQL and relational databases

• Experience manipulating and managing spatial data in a database

• Experience reviewing data in a GUI GIS tool such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, etc 
• Experience summarizing data in dashboard tools such as tableau, grafana, or custom built applications (senior required with no time, desired for junior and mid)
• Experience with data management tools such as Apache Airflow or NiFi

• Experience creating cloud implementations of complex data workflows
