Introduction to the team 

Join Expedia Group's AI/ML organization to drive complex machine learning initiatives that power intelligent travel experiences for millions of travelers worldwide. As a Technical Program Manager III, you'll manage end-to-end delivery of ML services in a diverse portfolio spanning personalization, monetization, and emerging AI technologies. 

 

In this role, you will:  

• Drive complex ML/AI projects from conception to production, developing technical strategies and execution plans 

• Partner with ML scientists and engineers to deliver scalable ML solutions 

• Influence senior stakeholders and manage cross-functional relationships effectively 

• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance team delivery 

• Translate complex ML capabilities into business value 

• Manage dependencies and risks across multiple ML workstream 

 

Experience and qualifications:  

• 5-8 years of technical program management experience, with focus on ML/AI systems 

• Deep understanding of ML technologies and their practical applications 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical field 

• Strong track record managing complex, multi-phase technical projects 

• Experience developing technical strategies for large projects or product areas 

• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage cross-functional relationships 

• Experience with MLOps practices and ML system optimization 

• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for various audiences 

 

Bonus Points 

• Experience delivering ML systems at scale in production environments 

• Track record of driving adoption of ML/AI capabilities across product teams 

• Experience with rapid prototyping and productization of emerging AI technologies 

• Background in platforms or marketplace businesses 

• Experience managing programs through significant technical or organizational change 

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $128,000.00 to $179,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $205,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
