Position Summary

Join our Analytics team as a founding member. Create our Analytics platform to bring standardization and engineering best practices to how we collect, process, and learn from data. Help us be a data driven organization in our day-to-day operations and our forward-looking strategy, as well as democratizing access to data.

What You’ll Do

As our Analytics Engineer you will: 

Big Picture

  • Ensure that critical data is available to a range of audiences including senior leaders, internal teams, third party partners and government agencies.
  • Build systems to import and manage data from a wide variety of internal and external sources
  • Be a founding member of a new organization-wide analytics team.

Day-to-day

  • Design and build data transmission lines (we don’t like pipelines here!)
  • Integrate data from a variety of sources including, our website, our APIs, our CMS,  and external partners.
  • Build dashboards, reports, charts, maps, and other visualizations tailored to each of its audiences’ needs.

The successful candidate demonstrates enthusiasm for making electrification easy, and models excellence and integrity in all they do. The selected candidate will also possess the following Core and Preferred qualifications and characteristics:

Core qualifications: 

  • Ability to design and build systems that ingest data from a wide variety of sources and clean, index, and join it and make it available for a variety of analytics tasks from large scale reporting to ad-hoc queries.
  • 3-5 years experience writing code to bring together data from a variety of sources using SQL, Python, and possibly additional languages.
  • 3-5 years experience with one (or preferably more than one) widely used data system, such as dbt, Databricks, or Snowflake, and a willingness to explore, learn, and recommend others with an open mind.
  • Ability to meet users where they are, giving them data access appropriate to their particular needs whether in the form of dashboards, excel files, CSV files, or APIs.
  • Bachelor's degree in a data-focused scientific or engineering field or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and listening skills that work for both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Strong commitment to the mission, policies and goals of Rewiring America.
  • Collaborative work style.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Excellent references demonstrating a strong track record in analytics.
  • Content knowledge in climate, renewable energy, and/or building electrification.
  • Experience in a non-profit setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 USD, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. 
  • Full Time Employees will receive 160 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 24 hours of volunteer leave annually. 
  • Employees will also receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year (13 days during Presidential and Congressional elections). 
  • We have an office closure between Christmas and New Year. 
  • Regular, full-time employees and part-time employees are eligible to take up to sixteen weeks of parental leave, in all cases related to birth, adoption, or foster care starting from the first day of employment. 
  • We offer access to professional development resources including up to $2000 per calendar year to use towards your growth and development.
