Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing data analytics projects, driving firm data strategy and innovation, managing and analyzing data to support decision-making process. This role requires a combination of strong analytical skills, technical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for leveraging data to achieve business goals. As an individual contributor with indirect leadership responsibilities, the role works closely with various departments to innovate, develop and maintaining data analytics solutions, providing insights to drive business performance.

Location

This position can sit in our Reston, Washington D.C., New York, or Chicago office and offers a hybrid work schedule.


Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy: Key driver in implementation of firm’s data strategy. Develop and implement analytics solutions in alignment with the firm's data strategy, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and security.

  • Reporting and Visualization: Develop and maintain data reporting tools and systems utilizing the firm’s data analytics platform (Power BI).

  • Data Analysis: Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to support strategic decision-making.

  • Data Integrity and Security: Responsible for process development and implementation of master data integrity and security.

  • Project Management: Manage multiple analytical projects that span across various teams and functions. Work closely with other departments, including Marketing, IT, Practice Group Management to drive cross-departmental solutions.

  • Continuous Improvement and Automation: Design and develop solutions to streamline processes, enhance data quality, and drive intelligent solutions. Research and evaluate new operational solutions and technologies.

  • Communications: Regularly communicate and present to senior firm leadership.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Provides leadership to and manages a team of business professionals to include coaching, mentoring and professional development. Responsible for providing performance feedback on a regular basis.


Desired Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large complex datasets, identify trends and provide actionable data-driven insights.

  • Highly proficient in Excel and data visualization tools (PowerBI/Tableau).

  • Proficiency with SQL and programming languages (Python/R/VBA).

  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and data modeling.

  • Experience with report development (SSRS/Power BI Paginated Reports/Qlik/Alteryx).

  • Experience with financial reporting and master data management.

  • Preferred experience with workflow automation (Power Automate/UI Path).

  • Experience with Machine Learning and AI implementation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of business processes and the ability to align data analytics initiatives with business objectives.

  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience (planning, executing, monitoring).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services organization preferred but not required.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.


Preferred Education

  • Master's Degree in Data Science, Analytics or a related field.


Minimum Years of Experience

  • 5 years working experience in data analytics, data visualizations and project management with at least 1 year in demonstrated managerial or leadership function. This experience should include proficiency in various data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL and Python as well as data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau. Experience should include report development using reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Service Analysis Services (SSAS), Business Objects. Additionally, having a proven track record of delivering actionable insights that drive business decisions and improve performance is highly valued.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid - Some in-office presence with flexibility to work-from-home.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $121,732 - $168,630 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.
