What does your job as a Data Engineer look like at NN?
You will join the IT Delivery team, which is responsible for designing, developing, and managing all applications for NN Belgium. As a Data Engineer, you will contribute to the maintenance and development of all Finance & Risk solutions within NN. In this domain, we are focused on creating a future-proof architecture, simplifying our landscape, and preparing for what lies ahead.

The Data Engineer will play a key role in shaping and simplifying both new and existing data solutions into innovative, meaningful data products. You’ll be part of a dynamic, energetic team with a clear focus on getting things done.

• You will help design, develop, and continuously improve our Azure cloud platform, applying DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies. The goal is to provide automated data intelligence solutions to the business.
• You will develop ETL pipelines in Azure Data Factory to drive new data integrations.
• You will apply data quality checks to make the datasets trustworthy for the business self-service reporting.
• This will all be done with a focus on the continuity, scalability, and security of our Azure cloud platform, while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• You will contribute to maintaining architectural consistency, security compliance, and applying standard blueprints, industry best practices, and Azure native solutions & services.
• Collaboration with internal business teams is essential, as developers and analysts work closely together to achieve our goals.

You have a passion for technology and data, and you're eager to contribute to the team to achieve shared objectives. You thrive in an Agile environment where collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement are key.

• You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and have gained initial experience in data engineering.
• You are proficient in English, with additional knowledge of Dutch or French, and excel in effective communication both within your team and with stakeholders.
• You have a hands-on approach, and experience building ETL pipelines, as well as proficiency in Scala or Python development.
• You are familiar with the Azure cloud platform, including Azure AD, Azure DevOps, and IaaS/PaaS solutions. Experience with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and Integration Services is a plus.
• Most importantly, you have a strong desire to learn, challenge yourself, and grow. We support your development, and you will collaborate with (international) colleagues who are eager to share knowledge.
