Overview of Role

Rothschild & Co seeks to hire an experienced Data Management Analyst to support its Financial Sponsors Team located in London. The role will involve reporting to the Global Head of Financial Sponsors and play a key role in supporting the firm’s Financial Sponsors strategy and coverage, which involves modernising and digitising our processes and analysis in line with industry best practices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving an important growth area for the business, by synthesising data from multiple sources at scale and extracting valuable information that can be leveraged for our bankers and our clients. The role will also involve interaction with the firms Executive Committee and senior members of the European advisory teams as well as working with other product and industry groups at the firm. Initially an EMEA and UK focused role. It is anticipated that the role may become global in nature over time.

Responsibilities

Financial Sponsors Coverage – Data and Information Management and Analysis

  • Managing large amounts of data related to Rothschild & Co’s coverage of financial sponsors, including assets in each fund’s portfolios, fund sizes, asset acquisitions and disposals, fund-raises, professionals lists including Rothschild & Co relationships, and asset targeting lists, as well as a broader database of deal activity in our core sectors in order to analyse market activity, trends and competitor activity.
  • Coordination with the Financial Sponsors team and use of resources including PitchBook, Preqin, fund websites and other databases / information from data providers to compile significant amounts of information and continuously update our internal databases to ensure consistent and accurate information.
  • Support in undertaking analysis of the above data to help inform Rothschild & Co’s strategy and efforts across sectors and geographies.
  • Support in analysing the performance of the group across a number of different metrics, including for example the firm’s level of success selling its different products to financial sponsors and the firms activity and interaction with different financial sponsors.
  • Support in providing and analysing data to feed into presentations for meetings with group heads and the Executive Committee.
  • Ensuring data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and analysis, as well as monitor data enrichment practices.
  • Developing and maintaining critical CRM updates (on existing CRM systems) and tracking tools.
  • Summarising and manipulating client information into presentation formats.

Core skills required:

  • Two or more years of relevant experience is preferred. Operations, investment banking, accounting, consulting or corporate development experience is preferred.
  • Self-directed, creative and resourceful. We are seeking a highly-efficient, organised candidate with a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask and keep track of large amounts of information.
  • High proficiency and excellence in utilising Microsoft suite (Excel, FactSet, Microsoft, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience working with CRM systems and Business Intelligence software is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Rigorous minute taking and ability to extract core relevant data/information from meetings.
  • Ability to engage with senior internal clients.
  • Numeracy to digest and interpret basic company financials.
  • Familiarity/understanding of financial markets, public and private securities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and rigour in preparing and presenting documents.
  • Research skills to source and summarise key information on clients and investors.
  • Ability to project manage discreet tasks and collaborate with individuals and teams to meet reporting deadlines.
