The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

The Data Custodian is responsible for Quality control ("Q/C") processes governing Key Data Elements ("KDEs"). The position ensures that appropriate validation processes are adhered to in accordance with Enterprise-wide Data Management Procedures and that procedures accurately document the processes. The Data Custodian is responsible for post-boarding QC Check and remediation (if required) of any errors in KDEs for credit transactions. The results of the Q/C process is to be documented and used to develop and/or maintain acceptable error thresholds for KDEs being monitored. The Data Custodian also monitors evolving error trends in KDEs and provides consultation to Offshore team on key trends and issues related to key data accuracy.

Major Responsibilities:

Key Data Element (KDE) Management (80%)

  • Validate the accuracy of KDEs for each credit transaction, by reviewing the templates completed by the Offshore team for accuracy between the source documentation and booking instructions and a qualitative review of the appropriateness of the data selected for each KDE.
  • Ensure that all errors that are found are sent to the appropriate department for review and/or remediation as needed.
  • Keep up with the changing environment and alert Management when this happens. If applicable conduct meetings with the Offshore Data Custodian team to advise them of any changes in our process.
  • Maintain Desktop Procedures in accordance with Enterprise-wide Data Management Procedures to perform Q/C of KDEs for credit transactions.
  • Answer Questions from the Offshore Data Custodians in a timely manner and provide a good team working environment.
  • Support audit, exams and other ad hoc activities as directed by Management.
  • Work with the following systems:

  • OVS – Overseas Banking System
  • CDL – Central Directory Layer
  • GCARS – Global Credit Application & Rating System
  • Deal Docs
  • DAA – Data Accuracy Automation Portal

Data Management (20%)

  • Perform ongoing monitoring of the accuracy of existing key data elements.
  • Participate in helping to update and review Desktop Procedures to ensure deficiencies are corrected and the efficiency of the Q/C process is continuously improving. Via Yearly Meeting with all Data Custodians or as needed.
  • Investigate, evaluate and determine causes of the effectiveness and efficiency of the department's controls and make recommendations to augment the controls when applicable.
  • Responsible for defining and managing data accuracy procedures including responsibility for the data accuracy of the KDEs with Data Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years Loan Operations or Loan Administration experience including knowledge of Credit Agreements and familiarity with Participated/Syndicated Facilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • PC skills are required, especially Microsoft Office applications.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $70K to 80K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
