Vacancy: Innovation Data Analyst

Location: UK flexible, hybrid working

As an Innovation Data Analyst, your role is required to support the Business by ensuring that CT’s Innovation activities are executed effectively, and that innovation data is managed in alignment with KPIs to ensure portfolio health.

In this role you must provide accurate and insightful data to key stakeholders to facilitate effective engagement and decision-making across the Innovation portfolio. This position coordinates activities from ideation through to innovation, ensuring that product and service development activities incorporate sustainability. These activities are tracked  and  measured  and  inform  metrics  such  as  NPI  advantaged  sales,  UNSDG  alignment,  KIP investments, and R&D tax credit spending.

This role particularly supports entry to the innovation funnel, taking new ideas into the portfolio and working with stakeholders to develop them into structured projects with business cases and clear benefits tracking. The individual will be a member of the CT Innovation team.

This role reports directly to the Strategic Portfolio Manager for CT business.

Your responsibilities:

  • Organise and co-ordinate monthly PRB meeting, send pre-read and actions and feedback after the meeting.

  • Support project leaders/market managers to improve quality of business cases, provide timely feedback for any charters that do not meet the burden of proof prior to putting on the agenda and ensuring actions from feedback are completed

  • Builds, maintains, and utilises a network of internal data sources to support Innovation Management including KeyedIn, Quality Management, Trial Management Portal, SIEA Dashboard, KPI Dashboard, Portfolio Management Reviews, Innovation Review data (at each level JM, CT, BU Level), R&D spend,  NPI% sales tracking, ensuring quality data is maintained and managed in alignment with fair data usage policies.

  • Support Licensing portfolio management by ensure data quality and CT/BU Portfolio reviews with data analysis and insights via dashboards – e.g Licensing PMR.

  • Score projects and create the approved projects in system, developing towards leading and chairing the review.

  • Accountable for process - Review the process and develop a plan to improve & simplify the reviews whilst maintaining the level of scrutiny and inquiry for major projects.

Requirements for the role:

  • Experience of applying project management methodology tools, techniques, and terminology.

  • Previous experience of Data Analytics collecting, processing, and analysing data to derive meaningful insights and creation of dashboards.

  • Communicate complex data findings through engaging and informative visualizations, making data accessible to a broader audience.

  • Hands on experience of PowerBI including PowerApps and Power Query

  • Excellent people skills including persuading and influencing and written/presentation skills

  • Has a good understanding of the chemical and energy industry and demonstrable experience and/or enthusiasm for Product development and Innovation would be highly desirable
