A Little About Us

The AOL Data Science and Analytics team is dedicated to delivering data solutions to partner teams across the organization. Our diverse output includes dynamic dashboarding and reporting, comprehensive behavioral and user profiling, advanced statistical analysis and modeling, rigorous experimentation, and strategic development, among other impactful activities. We collaborate closely with the business to identify and address product and business gaps and opportunities. By generating hypotheses and creating data products, we empower our partners to make informed decisions and drive success for all of AOL! 

A Lot About You

As a Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence, you will report to the Sr. Manager of Business Intelligence (AOL Brand) and will work with teams across the organization including Editorial/Content, Product, Business Development, Strategy & Ops and FP&A.  This person will be working directly with stakeholders and cross functional teams to deliver reports and actionable insights, while driving data-led decisions that inform strategy.

Day to Day

  • Analyze performance (web, mobile, app) across the AOL ecosystem to understand user trends, behavior and competitive landscape

  • Act as the Business Intelligence lead for multiple projects in a fast paced work environment

  • Support stakeholders with weekly, monthly & quarterly performance reports

  • Present and communicate performance results and findings to various stakeholders at all levels

  • Support ad hoc requests coming from leadership and other key stakeholders within the company

  • Monitor data quality issues, partnering with other teams to surface gaps and inconsistencies

  • Leverage third-party data sources such as Comscore, Similarweb, data.ai, and Shareablee for competitive and market analysis

Basic Requirements (Must Have):

  • Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred) and experience in digital analytics and insights delivery

  • 2+ years of experience generating actionable insights that aid data-driven decisions in building great products with great user experience

  • Expert knowledge of SQL is required

  • Experience using analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics

  • Proficient in data visualization tools such as Google Studio, Tableau, Domo, Looker or similar tools is a must

  • Experience conducting analyses across Content and/or Product teams

  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative mindset with an understanding of basic statistics 

  • Proven track record and enthusiasm for complex problem solving and analysis, including working with large data sets

  • Strong communication skills and ability to craft and present data driven analyses and insights to articulate performance and opportunities to key stakeholders

  • The ability to work across multiple disciplines with both data and non-data focused people alike

  • Ability and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines can sometimes be tight and stakeholder’s needs are immediate  

  • A hands-on attitude. Someone who is not afraid to dig into technical/instrumentation issues and won’t be stopped until they find the right solution

  • Self-motivated and results-driven

  • Media industry experience is a must

Desired Characteristics (Preferred)

  • Master's Degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, Mathematics, or Finance

  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R

  • Extensive experience collaborating with product teams

  • Experience in report automation

  • Experience using Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) or AWS

  • Experience collaborating with Data Scientists and UX Research/Design team

The compensation for this position ranges from $84,750.00 - $176,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
