As an Associate Manager of Business Data Governance, you will provide data domain expertise and execute all facets of the data governance discipline and lifecycle to implement strategic initiatives and provide hands-on support, partnering with data management, business stakeholders, and IT teams to resolve issues. This role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining a robust framework for managing data assets, ensuring that data is treated as a valuable corporate asset and used responsibly to drive business outcomes.

What you will do

  • Lead the establishment of best practices in finance and organizational structure master data governance, data management, and business processes.
  • Create and deliver data definitions, policies, standards, and processes, working with data stewardship/management teams on their respective implementation(s).
  • Identify and lead initiatives to maintain high-quality data throughout its lifecycle. This includes defining data quality standards, implementing tools and processes, and monitoring data quality metrics to identify and address issues. Helps to lead and establish governance principles, policies, and stewardship within the project lifecycle and IT SDLC.
  • Responsible for influencing key business (functional, divisional, regional) partners to build consensus, make decisions, and execute plans to implement and support master data standards in business and technology projects and their respective change management processes.
  • Analyze and identify data sources and redundancy and implement processes to address data management/governance needs, issues, and/or data clean-up efforts.
  • Identify data quality opportunities and drive adherence to governance and quality initiatives. Perform impact analysis and coordinate the execution of change processes.
  • Participate in and review system enhancement and new technologies for data needs, use, and redundancies.
  • Serve as key finance data domain expert and data steward/management teams; lead data activities supporting strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Provide guidance in process redesign opportunities that may include current system enhancements or the need for new technology.
  • With a global process team, design and deliver efficient, transparent, and effective data processes.
  • Analyze problems, diagnose, find root causes, and then create a fix or partner with the team to design a solution collaboratively.

What you need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems (IS), Information Technology (IT) or equivalent field of study.
  • 6+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or corporate business function.
  • Experience with master data management and understanding the complex business processes within the record-to-report process.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally in a global matrix structure.

Preferred:

  • Experience with finance master data management across multiple ERP and EPM systems (e.g., SAP S4/Hana, Concur, Coupa, Workday, Hyperion and BPC) and familiarity with data governance tools like GlobalIDs, Informatica, SAP EIM, and Collibra.
  • Experience with ERP implementations, data mapping, cleansing, and migration management.
  • Experience with a highly complex, multi-ERP organization is highly preferred.
  • Certifications in CDMP, CIMP or IQCP
