Function Developer Data-based Control Grid Solutions (m/f/d)

We are looking for a dedicated professional to develop, validate, and optimize data-driven system functions for thermal and electrical energy management systems. The role involves creating test concepts, enhancing internal libraries with modern algorithms, and fostering agile approaches, while coordinating efforts with development partners to drive innovation and reliability.

Your impact

• Development, specification, and testing of data-based system functions in thermal and electrical energy management systems
• Validation and optimization of the developed system functions through simulations as well as experimental data from test bench and field trials
• Support in the creation of test concepts and test cases at the system, integration, and unit levels to ensure the reliability of the developed system functions
• Active support in the definition and further development of a unified, agile approach to function development
• Further development and maintenance of Viessmann-internal libraries regarding tools and modern algorithms, including in the areas of optimization, machine learning, and automatic control
• Coordination of collaboration with development partners

Who you are

You are a strong team player with excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations while maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach. You also bring:

• Completed studies in computer science or engineering (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Dipl.-Ing.) with a focus on data science, AI, software engineering, control systems, data engineering, or a comparable field
• 3–5 years of professional experience in the specified area is desirable
• Proficient in using an analytical programming language (e.g., Python, Matlab), with knowledge of an additional object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, C++) being an advantage
• Experienced in the design of model-based and data-driven controls, with solid knowledge in the areas of control systems, machine learning, and optimization
• Strong expertise in the modeling of technical systems, particularly in the application of model-based controller design, is an advantage
• Business fluent in English. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
