Product Applications & Controls R&D > Modelling & Analytics Module > Plant Monitoring & Reliability
Plant Monitoring & Reliability Sub Module, within Modelling & Analytics Module, Part of Vestas Power Solutions, is responsible for the products and services related to Vestas Monitoring and Reliability solutions and offerings.
We have a strong and diverse team with global presence, that consists of highly skilled Health/Condition Monitoring & Reliability Engineers/Specialists, Statisticians, Data engineers & Data Scientists. The department is responsible for developing world class Plant Monitoring Products & Solutions that includes Health/Condition Monitoring, Power Quality Monitoring, Reliability, Failure Predictors & CMS data Products. This is enabled through real-time data collection from thousands of power plants with CMS systems, IoTs on Health Monitoring & Reliability setup supporting multiple data applications, data products, diagnostics, monitoring solutions for our internal & external customers.The end goal is to bring down the cost of energy by leveraging the vast amount of data that Vestas collects and stores from power plants around the globe. The team is characterized by Vestas values: Accountability, Collaboration, Simplicity and Passion which form the backbone for our culture of striving for world class. Vestas Modelling & Analytics is on a journey of transitioning into a Cloud based data platform for Plant & Reliability data. You will be the core Senior Data Analyst, responsible for development and implementation of this transition, and become part of design of modern data product offerings for Reliability area. The primary scope of work will be sourcing of data from distributed on-premise data systems to develop and predict product performance through data science methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Reliability modelling, distribution fitting, first-order reliability method, Monte Carlo sampling and physics-of-failure modelling
- Promote and improve design process landscape in electrical and align processes across turbine design modules
- Reliability analysis activities like Life Data Analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams, Reliability Theoretical Calculation using stress-based models and FTA
- Develop, test & deliver Statistical modelling, machine learning and time-series modelling as well as working knowledge of the six-sigma methodology
- Develop and Improve data collection tools, methods and processes for generating failure rates and other product performance data
- Good knowledge and understanding of Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment
- Ability to coordination on CTQs with suppliers and colleagues in Quality department
Qualifications
- PhD/M.Tech/ B.Tech in Mechanical/Reliability Engineering or Post graduation in Statistics
- Min. 7 years of proven experience in management of medium- to high complexity development projects
- Experienced user of Agile methodologies and Jira applications
- Experience with global matrix organizations is desired
Competencies
- Should be enthusiastic, result oriented and have a good sense of responsibilities
- Should have good interpersonal skills and Stakeholder Management across Vestas value chain Should have a solid communication & Presentation skill
- Working knowledge of failure analysis methodology for root-cause analysis
- Strong coding skills in SQL, R, Matlab & Python with object oriented/object functional scripting languages: Git Pipeline
- Preferably have a background in DFR & Postproduction analysis
