With the massive surge of electronic travel documents and national eID cards, Thales Digital & Security is supporting border agencies, government authorities and airports to exploit technology convergence to gain consistent, comprehensive border, visa management and document verification worldwide, that will:

  • Deliver seamless travel with border control applications
  • Offer convenience for travelers for fast and secure border crossing
  • Improve border intelligence for detection and prevention, including some of the most disruptive new technologies like biometrics, machine learning, or micro services.

A week in the life of a QA Engineer:

  • You will be responsible for the writing and execution of Validation Tests Plans related to new features, fixes and technical improvements in a Border Control system combining software and hardware.
  • You will troubleshoot issues and unexpected behaviors in the system and find its root causes providing workarounds and feedback, collaborating with the team to find a solution to avoid the issue in the future.
  • You will participate in the architecture evolution, technical design, estimation of the workload and also contribute to the requirements specification.
  • You will collaborate with the team to write the technical documentation related to these activities.
  • You will be a team player inside a Scrum team developing the Border Control product.

To succeed in this job, you must have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in validation of software systems
  • Experience on troubleshooting with a technical mindset on complex systems
  • Strong communication skills, including fluent Spanish and English
  • Experience working inside an interdisciplinary development team with continuous integration (CI) and related tools: JIRA, Xray, Jenkins or GitLab
  • Effective knowledge of Web Technologies and Modern Software Architectures: Microservices, REST APIs, distributed messaging, etc.
  • Fluency in English (B2+) and Spanish

We will value:

  • Working experience on a Support Team managing reported technical issues
  • Knowledge of BDD, Cucumber and Gherkin language
  • Knowledge of SQL, Kibana or Grafana query language to analyze metrics and KPIs
  • Experience with testing tools like JUnit/NUnit, Playwright and K6
  • Knowledge of Docker containers and Kubernetes
  • Advanced user knowledge on Linux and Windows client OS
  • Experience with a programming language: Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.
