What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Director, Growth Strategies, you will be responsible for supporting the broader team with our Credit Card Balance Transfer, Global Migration (Upsell), and Authorized User growth programs. As Business Specialist, Revenue Optimization, you’ll support with day-to-day activities to optimize client & frontline experience, support with the flawless execution of campaigns, complete data analytics to inform process / program improvements. You will work in close partnership with internal and external partners in delivering on this mandate.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
Important Information
- You must be currently enrolled in post-graduate education to be eligible, however, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for this role

- You are a university student pursuing a Masters degree. Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics major is an asset, but not required

- Duration of term: Winter 2025 term (January - April)

How You’ll Succeed
- Consultant – You integrate domain knowledge with analytical capabilities to deliver value to stakeholders, enable data-driven decision making. You build collaborative relationship with business partners and proactively identify opportunities to drive business growth.
- Analytics – You identify and leverage the right analytics approach to source data required and extract actionable insights out of various data sources. You appropriately integrate of big data, business intelligence, visualization, self-service and analytical tools into engagements.
- Technology – You leverage big data/analytical tools to analyze large structured and unstructured datasets, build data pipeline and visualization from multiple data sources.
- Ownership – You think and act like an owner in analytics initiatives ensuring the proper identification and translation of business needs into analytics requirements.
- Communication – Find the story in data and be flexible in communicating at varying levels of details for the right audience.
Who You Are
- You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or Business discipline
- You are a problem solver. You have exceptional critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills with demonstrated ability to independently identify and analyze business problems and recommend solutions.
- You are proficient in programming languages and have experience using modern big data, analytical and dashboard tools (i.e. SAS, SQL, Python, R, Hadoop, Spark, Alteryx, Tableau, Cognos).
- You have experience in building analytics solutions involving large datasets (i.e. requirement gathering, data extraction, cleaning and transformation, statistical analysis, presentation & implementation).
- You have a demonstrated interest and knowledge in banking products.
- You are an avid learner who recognizes the analytics field is constantly evolving. You seek to explore emerging trends and best practices in the industry and are excited to share the knowledge with others.
- You can be clearly understood. You have very strong communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely present information to groups and individuals at all levels in the organization.
- You put our clients first. You engage with purpose to find the right solutions. You go the extra mile, because it's the right thing to do.
