Job Description
Sitting within the Group Technology Solutions and Engineering team (and reporting into the Data Engineering Lead) you will work closely with other data engineers, BI/Analytics, Data Science, and a range of business stakeholders.
Big changes and investment are underway in our Data Engineering space, with our data warehouse migrating to Snowflake and the introduction of DBT and DataOps processes to establish consistent, efficient workflows across our growing team. This is a highly technical role, where your expert data engineering skills will be essential from day one. Across our business over the past 18 months, we’ve brought numerous new systems online, and these pipelines now require embedding and further modelling to ensure they’re production-ready.
By joining our Data Engineering team, you will be joining a cohort of 7 Data Engineers so there is also great support and cross skilling. Day to day you will be leveraging your technical skills to architect and deliver solutions – developing, maintaining and testing processes to expand and optimise our data pipeline, flows and collection to ultimately ensure the data can be easily analysed by stakeholders.
Qualifications
First and foremost, you have a passion for setting up data solutions. Equally important, is your ability to understand business requirements and translate this into technical solutions, (coupled with an appreciation of project driven/implementation environments).
You will bring the following to the role:
- Strong Data Engineering background
- Ridiculously good SQL skills
- Experience working in a modern data engineering practises, particularly DevOps/DataOps
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills
- Open and resilient to change
- A test and learn attitude
- An insatiable curiosity
