Data is pivotal to everything we do in Finance Investment Operations Change. We need data to be accurate, timely, and easily reportable to enable effective decision-making. Our team supports several strategic areas across the business, ensuring the safe delivery of strategic projects into operational finance environments. Data is crucial for understanding impacts on operational areas, managing resources in our change team, and ensuring charges and benefits are correctly allocated and tracked.

As a Data Manager, you will continuously seek to improve the way we work, particularly by leveraging data visualization tools to streamline our reporting. You will also understand the importance of data in the decision-making process. This role will give you the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the business as well as our senior leadership team.

A bit about the job:

You will join our Finance Investment Operations Change Team, which supports our wider Finance and Investment Operations function. As a Data Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all demand into our team is managed in a controlled way. You will work alongside project leads and our internal teams to understand our data. Day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Data Management: Record and maintain data in our Book of Work, ensuring it is accurate and up to date. Develop and uphold data standards.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyse data to identify risks/issues and report findings to stakeholders. Support MI development.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work with the PMO to update tools like Planview, support project leads, ensure accurate billing, and uphold quality assurance.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Effective Communication: Ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences and clearly articulate data findings. This is crucial for collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring everyone understands the insights derived from data.
  • Analytical and Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills and experience with tools like Excel, R, or Python. This showcases your capability to handle complex data, perform in-depth analysis, and support data solution design.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to think creatively and drive innovative solutions to improve processes and deliver successful outcomes.
