About the Role
The Agency department of AIA Insurance is seeking a skilled and results-driven Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytical techniques and machine learning models to drive business decisions, optimize processes, and enhance customer experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply data-driven insights to a range of business problems, contributing directly to the company’s digital transformation in the insurance industry.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Actionable Insights: Apply advanced statistical techniques to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and build predictive models that address business challenges and provide actionable insights to business.
- Machine Learning Models: Develop and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex problems in agent performance, and policy optimization. Work with algorithms such as decision trees, SVM, clustering, ensemble methods, and deep learning models.
- Data Engineering: Ensure data quality by cleaning, transforming, and processing large datasets from multiple sources.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, including agency leaders, product managers, and IT to understand business requirements and translate them into data science solutions.
- Presentation and data story-telling: Create impactful presentations to effectively communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders and guide strategic decision-making.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics. PhD candidates are welcome to apply.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and modeling methods.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Databricks.
- Expertise in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in the insurance sectors.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing machine learning models in production environments.
- Strong ability to work with large, complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
