Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is actively seeking motivated and talented Fatigue and Tracking Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join our dynamic engineering teams in Berkeley, MO.

  • Boeing Global Services businesses

Position Responsibilities:

  • Complete Durability and Damage Tolerance Analysis for structural locations using common fatigue and fracture tools and software.

  • Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

  • Provide technical solutions for aircraft production lines with high priority nonconformance fatigue analysis.

  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.

  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

  • Interact with early career engineers to provide training and mentorship on fatigue and fracture analysis.

  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s OR 3+ years with a Masters OR PhD

  • 3+ years data analytics experience

  • 3+ years computer programming skills and knowledge

  • 3+ years technical writing experience

  • 3+ years of work-related experience performing fatigue and fracture analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to obtain a U.S Secret Clearance

  • Data analytics experience using R, Python, or Matlab

  • Code development experience using Fortran (legacy or modern)

  • Metal fatigue analysis knowledge/experience

  • Bash shell scripting experience

  • Code version tracking experience using subversion (SVN)

  • Skilled at using structural fatigue analysis software such as PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck and Lifeworks

  • Experience with Spectrum Generation

  • Experience with Full-Scale Fatigue Testing and/or other structural and material testing plans

  • Familiar with Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (or equivalent) and it’s requirements

  • Ability to provide training/mentoring to early career engineers

  • Experience working in a diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT)

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for experienced level 3: $95,200 - $128,800

Summary pay range for senior level 4: $115,600 - $156,400
