What you'll do...
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in backend development to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of the Receipt Check application. This application in integration with Computer Vision and Machine Learning technologies is critical to enhancing the exit experience for Sam's Club members and plays a vital role in helping the business prevent shrink. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, data scientists and UI/UX engineers to enhance and maintain the application to be robust, scalable and highly performant.

The InClub Checkout team is dedicated to revolutionizing the checkout and club exit experience for Sam's Club members. Our goal is to provide a seamless, efficient, and enjoyable checkout process that enhances the overall shopping experience. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions, we strive to minimize wait times, streamline transactions, and ensure a smooth exit from the club. Our team collaborates closely with multidisciplinary engineers, UI/UX designers, and other stakeholders to deliver a best-in-class experience that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our members. Through continuous improvement and a customer-centric approach, the InClub Checkout team is committed to making every visit to Sam's Club a positive and memorable one.
What you'll do:
Backend Development: Take ownership of the backend architecture, design, and implementation of the Receipt Check application, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and secure.
System Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture, design patterns, and best practices for backend services.
Development and Maintenance: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Ensure the application is well-tested and continuously improved.
Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring the application can handle high traffic and large volumes of data.
Integration: Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to integrate backend services with frontend components and third-party systems.
Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Agile Practices: Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
What you'll bring:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on designing and building scalable applications.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js. Experience working with Springboot framework, nHibernate, Message Broker Services, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and databases (SQL and NoSQL), .
Cloud Utilization: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
Operational Excellence: Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions.
Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
