As a technical program manager, you will work across software and autonomy teams to develop tactical plans that drive clarity and execution for engineering teams. You can cut through competing priorities using supporting data and analysis to drive execution. You have experience developing project schedules, identifying milestones, flagging risks, estimating budgets, and clearly communicating on-going progress. You enjoy challenges in a fast moving, iterative, development environment.

Responsibilities 

  • Project planning and execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies for software projects related to robotics or autonomous systems. 

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Lead and coordinate efforts across diverse engineering teams like perception, mapping, simulation, and autonomy to ensure smooth project execution. 

  • Stakeholder management: Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies effectively to key stakeholders, including product managers, engineering leadership, and executives. 

  • Metrics and performance tracking: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure quality standards are met. 

  • Communication and Leadership: Articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, along with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Problem-solving: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions to complex challenges.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent job experience

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering program management, or management consulting

  • 5+years of technical expertise with software development methodologies and familiarity with robotics/autonomous systems concepts like sensor fusion, localization, mapping, and autonomy. 

  • Strong track record of managing complex cross-functional projects

  • Experience building strong working relationships with senior leaders and engineers across functions and departments

  • Experience keeping the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience

  • Relevant experience shipping features into a live production environment
