With whom you will CELLebrate

The mission hast started. We proudly announce that in our Battery Valley we are starting our own battery cell production and the ramp up of our worldwide headquarters for global cell manufacturing. The CTO organization takes care of the battery cell development. Our responsibility includes research, predevelopment of materials and components, series development, prototyping, testing and analysis of battery cells.

     How you will CELLebrate
  • Lead and Innovate: Coordinate, analyze, interpret, and evaluate detailed experiments and battery testing on automotive and laboratory scales to gain electrochemical properties of electrodes and materials. Develop and implement machine learning models to predict battery performance, lifespan, and failure modes.
  • Drive the Future: Support the development of the next generation of batteries for e-mobility applications. Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and insights that can improve battery design and manufacturing processes. Create and refine algorithms for data processing, anomaly detection, and optimization of battery cells.
  • Collaborate and Excel: Develop, implement, and support strategic projects and partnerships. Manage projects and work closely with interdisciplinary teams, both internally and with external partners.
  • Hands-On Management: Take a leading role in developing, coordinating, monitoring, and analyzing battery tests. Manage samples, electrodes, and materials for testing in our state-of-the-art lab. Create and maintain a comprehensive test database. Integrate data from various sources (e.g., lab tests, field data) to create comprehensive models and simulations.
  • Innovative Testing: Develop suitable measurement methods for testing battery behavior and validating simulation models. Develop advanced data visualization tools to communicate findings to stakeholders and support decision-making.
  • Simulate and Optimize: Simulate the performance and aging of batteries, parameterize and calibrate electrochemical models, and develop new models and methods for detailed descriptions of physical and chemical processes in batteries.
What you need for our CELLebration
  • Industry Experience & Educational Background: Several years of experience in the battery industry, particularly with battery cells. A successfully completed (under-)graduate degree in computer science, mathematics, chemistry, materials science, physics, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • Passion for Innovation: A keen interest in developing the next generation of batteries. Deep knowledge of electrochemical systems. Understanding of battery technology and electrochemistry to contextualize data insights.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). Excellent programming skills in MATLAB and Python (numpy, scipy, pandas, etc.) for data processing. Strong background in statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
  • Data Management & Visualization: Experience with the organization of data in tables and data structures (e.g., SQL) and basic knowledge of SQL queries. Experience with PySpark and Databricks. Experience with plotting and complex visualizations of data and related frameworks (Plotly, Bokeh). Knowledge in PowerBI is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences. Proficient English skills.
     What else can you bring
  • Initiative and Adaptability: High degree of initiative and ability to grasp new concepts quickly. Ability to work on several projects and tasks in parallel.
  • Analytical Mindset: High analytical competence to solve complex problems.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge about clean-code principles (e.g., SOLID) and software design.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills. Above-average ability to work in a team.
