About The Department

Our Digital Technology Services - Data and Analytics team plays a crucial role in harnessing data to inform strategic decisions and improve the educational experience.
 

Hybrid Onsite:

This position offers a hybrid opportunity to work both remotely and onsite and therefore requires that the incumbent reside within a commutable distance to Greater Cincinnati. Hybrid work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

Job Overview

As a Data Reporting Analyst 2, identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs and build data models, reports and dashboards. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. The ideal candidate should have experience and knowledge in PowerBI.

Essential Functions

  • Work directly with clients to identify business requirements.
  • Convert business requirements into developed reports.
  • Develop reports and dashboards with limited supervision and have the ability to guide business users on best practices.
  • Interpret results using a variety of statistical techniques.
  • Guide business users on best practices.
  • Capable of maintaining existing catalog with limited guidance.
  • Create data models and data sets that meet the reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement

Required Experience

  • Two (2) years of business and/or ERP related experience
  • Basic knowledge of systems and database administration

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • 3+ years of experience in PowerBI building data models, reports, and dashboards.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Report Developer.
  • 2+ years of experience working with SAP BW and SAP Business Objects
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of Student and HR data domains is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the higher education sector is a plus.
  • Preferred experience working with cloud hosted data and analytical tools.
  • Preferred experience in Informatica Data Integration and/or Data Quality.
  • Preferred experience in Snowflake.
