The Role
As the Director of Data Products, you will drive the vision, strategy and continuous improvement of our data driven and AI powered products. Your role will be pivotal in harnessing data, analytics and artificial intelligence to create products that not only meet market demands but also deliver substantial value to our customers. With a strong customer focus, you will cultivate relationships across multiple departments, ensuring alignment of data initiatives with business objectives while driving innovative data and AI driven solutions. Cubic is experiencing a period of rapid growth and you will help to scale and mature data product management processes to ensure we maintain product quality and service delivery, while innovating.
Responsibilities:
- Establish a clear vision and strategy for data products that align with the overall company strategy and market needs.
- Communicate product strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders, advocating for data-driven decision making at Cubic and at our customers.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends, translating insights into data & AI product concepts, roadmaps and features.
- Work collaboratively with innovation, product, engineering, data science, marketing, and analytics teams to bring outstanding data & AI driven products to market.
- Develop and lead a team of Data Product Managers and Data Product Owners that are engaged, operating efficiently and delivering against their goals.
- Own prioritisation of data & AI product investments, in collaboration with the broader Product & Technology organisation, to achieve a balanced portfolio.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and foster a product-centric culture within the organization.
- Oversee the data products lifecycle from conception through development, launch and continuous improvement for both customer facing and internally deployed products.
- Define and track key performance indicators for data products to evaluate success and inform future development.
Requirements
Basic Requirements and Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in product management with a focus on data and analytics product development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate product strategies that inspire customers, senior leaders and colleagues.
- Proven experience leading the successful delivery of complex data-driven products.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience with Agile product development methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in creating and delivering a data strategy and governance policies.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration or a related field.
Additional, optional requirements:
- Experience of working in IoT, telecommunications, automotive or connectivity domains.
- Experience of delivering machine learning or artificial intelligence solutions is a plus.
- Experience in creating and implementing data governance policies.
