Responsibilities
- Research and Validation Studies:
- Design and conduct of validation studies on the use of AI, deep learning, and LLMs in evidence synthesis
- Develop protocols for systematic reviews integrating AI-driven methodologies.
- Evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of AI/LLM tools in screening, extracting and synthesizing evidence.
- Data Extraction and Synthesis:
- Utilize AI and LLM platforms to semi-automate data extraction from diverse formats, including PDFs and tables.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to refine and validate data extraction processes.
- Enhance protocols for minimizing errors in human-led and AI-supported evidence synthesis tasks.
- AI Expertise and Implementation:
- Stay abreast of advancements in AI and LLM platforms ensuring the center employs state-of-the-art tools.
- Develop user-friendly workflows and training materials for the effective use of AI and machine learning tools by team members.
- Dissemination of Findings:
- Author and co-author systematic reviews and validation studies published in peer-reviewed journals.
- Present findings at conferences and workshops.
- Contribute to grant applications and funding proposals to support research initiatives.
- Collaboration and Mentorship:
- Collaborate with a team of systematic review analysts, subject matter experts, information scientists, and statistician.
- Mentor junior researchers and students in evidence synthesis and AI applications.
- Foster collaborations with internal and external stakeholders to expand the center's research capabilities.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant field such as Data Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience conducting systematic reviews with several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Expertise in validation studies, particularly those focused on AI/LLMs for evidence synthesis.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering, data extraction, and evidence synthesis processes.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM tools, such as Claude 2, GPT-4, transformers, Hugging Face and other NLP-based platforms.
- Programming skills (e.g., Python, R) and familiarity with machine learning frameworks.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and data quality assurance.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in conducting AI-driven data synthesis for diverse topics, such as agriculture and nutrition.
- Experience performing validation studies in evidence synthesis.
- Knowledge of systematic review platforms and guidelines such as PRISMA and Cochrane methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R) and familiarity with machine learning frameworks.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex AI and machine learning methods into plain language for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
