Senior Data Scientist – Machine Learning & Deep Learning

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist specializing in Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Generative AI (GAI) to lead and contribute to cutting-edge manufacturing projects. This role is integral to driving innovation, developing scalable AIML solutions, and delivering measurable business impact in areas including financial forecasting, supply chain optimization, manufacturing optimization, sustainable manufacturing, and manufacturing intelligence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

AIML Solution Development

• You will be the driving force to experiment, innovate, create models, and create next generation experiences powered by the latest AI technologies
• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers and product managers to deliver AI powered products that improve manufacturing business processes
• Design, implement, and optimize ML/DL/GAI models for applications in forecasting, anomaly detection, optimization, predictive analytics, and agentic AI
• Develop innovation for scalable AIML workflows, incorporating multi-model forecasting, smoothing protocols, and explainability frameworks
• Lead the ML approach and algorithm design for multiple manufacturing solutions

Explainability & Visualization

• Develop explainability features using frameworks like Expligen to foster trust and transparency in AIML solutions
• Create insightful dashboards in Power BI for stakeholders, highlighting granular details such as SKU-level forecasts and customer-specific insights
• Implement causal inference models to uncover relationships between variables and enhance decision-making with interpretable cause-effect analysis

Research & Innovation

• Research ML/DL methodologies, including time-series forecasting, reinforcement learning, and generative AI
• Incorporate external data sources, such as macroeconomic indicators, into predictive models to enhance accuracy and business relevance

Data Science Leadership

• Guide junior data scientists in AIML methodologies, technical problem-solving, and professional growth
• Promote best practices for model development, version control, and deployment pipelines

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelors or advanced degree in “STEM” field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)

• Experience: Working with AWS; 4+ years’ experience in Python; 5+ years’ experience with machine learning with demonstrated success in delivering AIML projects for enterprise applications

• Technical Skills: Expertise in ML/DL frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn; Advanced knowledge of time-series forecasting (ARIMA, VAR, Exponential Smoothing) and regression models); Generative AI fundamentals; Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data engineering tools like Snowflake; Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and orchestration tools (e.g., AWS Step Functions); Background in graph-based modeling and databases; Strong background in Causal AI and XAI

• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to collaborate across teams and influence decision-making

• Advanced Statistics, operations research/ management, mathematics or business analytics with experience, courses, or project work in an analytic methods such as linear, mixed linear, constraint programming, modeling, simulation, time series analysis, pattern recognition, queuing theory, multivariate analysis, and other various predictive analytics techniques

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing domain (supply chain optimization, manufacturing quality, and financial forecasting)
• Knowledge of AIML model observability in production environments
• Familiarity with manufacturing intelligence systems and predictive maintenance
