Job Summary
This role is responsible for managing a diverse team that supports large, complex business units or finance functions with significant impact on business results and organizational strategy. The role involves advising senior management on financial and other business performance metrics, facilitating data-driven decision-making, and collaborating with leadership as a strategic partner. Additionally, this role focuses on talent development, operational excellence, and the creation of innovative business analytics tools and processes to meet evolving business needs.
The candidate will also lead initiatives to enhance cost optimization, drive data improvement, and build advanced analytics capabilities tailored to the organization’s profitability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Optimization and Performance Management
- Drive initiatives that enable detailed cost visibility – to improve HPS cost structure.
- Work with stakeholders to identify insights and cost optimization opportunities and effectively manage non-controllable costs across HPS.
- Partner on financial controls and compliance to ensure alignment with legal, accounting, and organizational standards.
- Oversee and drive execution of initiatives to realize the cost savings identified in the analyses performed by the team.
Operational Excellence and Analytics Development
- Lead the development and implementation of HP Solutions business analytics tools
- Drive pan-HPS data improvement initiatives and standardize reporting processes to enhance decision-making.
- Collaborate with Finance, IT teams and division analysts to create consistent reporting frameworks and key operational metrics.
- Build metrics, dashboards, and analytics capabilities tailored to HPWS business needs to support performance management.
- Drive ongoing tool automation and efficiencies – using (but not limited to) AI where applicable
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with other business analysis teams on identifying insights and recommendations to improve business growth and profitability.
- Upon request, perform ad-hoc data analyses and deliver insights to support business requests.
- Partner with other teams also delivering data analytics tools within HPS – to ensure alignment and prevent redundancy.
- Provide thought leadership on cost management and profitability analysis, shifting critical legacy work to the low-cost center of excellence.
Team Leadership and Talent Development
- Manage and mentor a diverse team of individual contributors, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Lead talent management efforts, including recruitment, succession planning, performance evaluations, and career development initiatives.
- Actively coach team members to enhance their skills and grow in their careers.
- Build a high-performing team with expertise in cost management, analytics, and insights.

Team Leadership: Exceptional ability to lead, hire, and develop high-performing talent. Cost Expertise: Strong background in cost management and profitability analysis, with the ability to provide thought leadership in this domain. Data Analytics Proficiency: Advanced skills in data analysis, enabling/providing insights, and developing business analytics tools. Business Understanding: Basic knowledge of HP Solutions Business and its operational dynamics.
Qualifications and Experience
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in financial management, business analysis, or a related field. Experience in software engineering or IT data management a plus.
- Expertise in financial planning, data analytics, and cost management, with a demonstrated track record of driving efficiencies.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional (and geographically diverse) teams.
- Experience with building and implementing dashboards, metrics, and reporting frameworks.
- Basic familiarity with the HP Solutions Business or a comparable business environment is preferred.
