About the Department
Job Summary
This role performs routine assignments related to scientific research projects. Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Writes articles, reports and manuscripts. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates on research projects in the Science of Science and Artificial Intelligence.
- Collects, transforms, and procesess raw and unstructured data into usable formats.
- Analyzes large datasets and deep learning models.
- Produces write-ups and reports of findings.
- Participates in lab meetings.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Experience:
- At least 1 year of research experience.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Proficiency coding in Python.
- Proficient with NLP techniques such as word and document embeddings.
- Skilled using clustering and dimensionality reduction techniques such as K-means and PCA
- Proficient at implementing Neural Networks using Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, OpenCV, deep learning, and other artificial intelligence techniques.
- Skilled with image classification/recognition and tools to analyze illustrations in addition to photographs.
- Familiarity with Linux, UNIX, and High Performance Computing environment.
- Background forming and testing hypotheses.
