The Opportunity

The Director, Data Analytics will guide several key initiatives within Group Benefits, driving us forward with innovation while protecting data and the company’s reputation! In collaboration with our technology enablement partners and business process owners, the incumbent will lead their group of employees to create insights for our Distribution team, the creation of customized reporting for internal and external use, and provide industry leading service in report delivery for our Sponsor, while maintaining high data protection standards.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a nimble, high-impact team. Provide coaching and take accountability for career development of direct reports.
  • Engage with Business Leaders and Group Benefit’s Sponsors to direct your team to create new, insightful, and efficiency-generating reports. The incumbent is expected to be engaging with the ability to balance challenging demands, while pushing back on business leaders to ensure appropriate benefits and workflow for the team.
  • Guide and support the deployment of a data governance agenda to accelerate trust and utilization of data. Experience with the implementation of metadata management, data catalog, data quality framework, and data protection protocols are preferred for the role.
  • Innovate and continuously improve practices and outcomes. Evaluate and analyze new and existing technologies and capabilities to ensure improved outcomes that add customer value. Explore, document and present solution alternatives that improve processes and business objectives.

What we are looking for

  • Advanced degree in a financial, business, IT, engineering or other quantitative field.
  • Experience in a leadership role in sophisticated transformation initiatives, encompassing people, process and technology aspects of change.
  • 3+ years of data management experience in a large, complex enterprise
  • Expertise in data governance technologies, preference to those applied in the context of big data and Cloud platforms.
  • Experience in working with Distribution and storytelling through data and data visualization
  • Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills, with proven ability to multi-task. Experience in writing and ratifying policies and guidelines in the context of a global organization.
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision; ability and initiative to organize various functions vital to accomplish department activities or goals and be a solid team player.
  • Self-starter, with a passion, drive, curiosity and motivation to navigate across a global matrixed organization will be key success factor.
  • Proven ability to quickly establish credibility with internal partners and colleagues; to be the seen as an inspiring leader and a partner to the business with a deep expertise in data management and governance standard methodologies.

Salary range is expected to be between

$110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
