The Opportunity: 

As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support the next generation of defense weapons systems. As a machine learning engineer on our defense team, you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.   

In this role, you’ll lead the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and introducing leading-edge technologies. You’ll share your knowledge with a large community of machine learning engineers across the firm and collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and subject matter experts to deliver world class solutions to process data and information to provide near real-time analysis. Your advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

You Have:  

• 10+ years of experience in AI, Python programming, and deep learning frameworks, including PyTorch, MXNet, TensorFlow, or Keras, and big data technologies, including Hive, PySpark, Synapse, or Databricks

• 4+ years of experience managing technical teams and driving complex projects

• Experience architecting and developing Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Model (LLM), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) enabled solutions

• Knowledge of AI-Enabled systems

• Knowledge of AI concepts, including clustering, regression, algorithm selection and evaluation

• Ability to address and resolve unbounded technical issues and problem solve

• Ability to set and execute AI/ML initiatives and manage status and progress 

• TS/SCI clearance  

• Master’s degree  

Nice If You Have:  

• Experience with HTML, CSS, and front-end web frameworks

• Experience with business development and interfacing with clients

• Experience working in enterprise systems

• Experience with Data Operations, such as analytics, engineering, or platform

• Knowledge of DoD and IC domain and artificial intelligence principles and practices, to include deploying ML models into production within DoD enclaves

• Ability to deploy production application to a cloud environment, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services

• Ability to evaluate algorithm performance

• Doctorate in computer science or AI

• Certifications in technical domains, including security, cloud, or software development or in specializations, such as AI/ML, computer vision, deep learning, or NLP

Clearance:

 Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
