Job Description

As a Data Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for translating departmental directives and strategies into detailed project plans to support network infrastructure and business initiatives. Your role involves managing hardware and capacity for various data backend and value-added service (VAS) components, budgeting for expansion projects, and ensuring adherence to technical standards and policies. You will evaluate projects and optimization initiatives, recommend solutions, and oversee the implementation of work plans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Translates directives and strategies from department heads into detailed project plans.

• Provides the required Data Backend/VAS capacity & resources to support the network for all the Business programs & initiatives.

• Hardware and Capacity Management of:

• UGW / DPI / CGW / DGW / vUGW / vCGW / vDGW 

• F5 and Harmony / vMSE and vHarmony

• PCRF / vPCRF

• Budgets the necessary Data Backend/VAS expansion projects based on given business forecast requirements

• Manages resource allocation, parameter assignments, technical documentation, methods and policies to adhere to standards. 

• Evaluates endorsed projects and optimization initiatives by other teams how they will impact the existing Data Backend/VAS network)

• Recommends and/or facilitate solutions to the project requirements

• Crafts low-level design document

• Manages the implementation of work plans for the section by regularly monitoring work orders, processes, equipment and resource utilization, and technical training, and by giving guidance and solutions to escalated issues

• Assigns individual projects to each staff/ personnel with achievable goals

• Manages workforce productivity through regular monitoring, coaching and counseling when necessary to determine sources of problems that may affect output, and resolve them as quickly as possible

KPIs:

• Timely issuance & release of LLDs and project write-ups

• Factual recommendation to other NTG groups that are either in relation to network quality KPIs or Business driven initiatives

• Timely issuance & release of LLDs and project write-ups

• Timely and error-free MOPs

• Updated and accurate system documentation and database Data Backend and VAS platforms that  serve as technical and engineering references

• Updated as built floor lay-out of core sites to efficiently allocate space requirements for all new elements

TOP 3-5 DELIVERABLES:

• Deliver superior network quality

• Ensure timely delivery of capacity requirement

• Engineering plans are documented
